At the beginning of November 2018, a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of FSUE “SibNIA named after S.A. Chaplygin” was held to review and protect the results of the first stages of the Research Scientific Work “Research and development of a hybrid power plant demonstrator using high-temperature superconductivity technologies” (code “Electric aircraft SU”).
As a result of the work, the concept of the flying laboratory was formed for the flight tests of the hybrid power plant (HPP) demonstrator with an electric motor using high-temperature superconductivity technologies, including:
- operational requirements for the aircraft have been formed;
- as a result of a comprehensive analysis of weight-and-dimensional characteristics and configuration versions, the development of the mathematical model of the HPP configuration being a part of the flying laboratory has been made;
- evaluation of the ergonomic component of the placed inside HPP equipment has been made;
- evaluation of preliminary performance data and take-off and landing characteristics of the flying laboratory with the HPP has been carried out.
The results of the work performed are intended for use in the creation of advanced power plants for civil aviation aircraft of various purposes in the medium and long term.
